Professional Performance

Our Director Emily Wallace has a unique creative practice which explores the synergy between words and dance. In 2021 she was a Sunderland Culture Creative Development Fellow, as a result of which she produced a series of dance films entitled Poetry and Motion. This project was influenced by the late Modern Dance icon Isadora Duncan, and for it, Emily was mentored by Duncan expert Barbara Kane. In late 2022 she performed a collection of new work at Sunderland’s 1719. She is currently working on new material.
